THE Gibraltar Decorative Fine Arts Society talk for January will be given by American glass artist Dale Chihuly.
Dale is a true superstar of the glass world. With his passion for glass, his larger-than-life personality, his skills as a natural leader and educator, and his constant exploration of glass's luminous qualities and colour possibilities, he creates glass sculptures which are extravagant, colourful and spectacular.
Following two accidents he is no longer able to hold a blowing iron and now employs two glass teams to blow his visions from his spontaneous drawings, themselves works of art.
His glass magic has transformed the studio glass movement and altered our visual perceptions of this extraordinarily material forever.
To expand more on this extraordinary artist there will be an illustrated talk given by Charles Hajdamach. Charles is one of the top authorities on glass in the UK and former Director of Broadfield House Glass Museum.
The meeting takes place on Wednesday January 18 at the O'Callaghan Eliott Hotel.
The talk begins at 7.30pm and all are welcome to attend for complementary drinks from 6.30pm.
Guests can pay at the door £12.00 or purchase tickets or even subscribe your membership at www.buytickets.gi
